Award-winning American singer John Legend almost had his Porsche stolen recently by a man who hopped into the car while the celebrity was inside a studio.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Legend's automobile was parked outside a Los Angeles recording studio when the unidentified male strutted up to the vehicle, opened the door, and hopped in.
He sat in the car for a while, searching for the keys or some other way to start the ignition.
The security at the studio who saw the whole thing via surveillance cameras alerted the cops who arrived at the scene and confronted the intruder.
The officers asked him what he was up to and he replied that the Porsche was his. He then got out and started walking away.
He took off on his heels and the cops gave chase, caught up with him and took him into custody.
The suspect was put in a cell where he was booked for a felony offence of attempted grand theft auto. He is being held on $85,000 bail.
