Uganda women's national team coach Sheryl Botes was optimistic that her wife will upset Nigeria's Super Falcons on Monday night's semifinals clash of the ongoing 13th African Games holding in Ghana, reports Allnews.ng

While the men's national team has been eliminated in the football event of the Games following the 3-2 defeat to Senegal, the Falcons are still in contention for a podium finish at the Games.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of tonight's game, Botes noted that the Falcons' playing style is not as same as West African rivals, Ghana, and the Queen Cranes have devised a strategy to counter the nine-time African champions.

“This tournament has been of great importance to us because we have got the chance to play against teams like Ghana and Nigeria which are some of the best on the continent,” Botes told the media.

“The exposure and experience gained here will not leave us the same. The players have earned a lot facing different teams and they can only get better going forward.

“Nigeria is a possesion based team, they are not direct as Ghana. Therefore, we have drafted a strategy on how to approach this game and I have the trust in my players to execute it to perfection," Botes sensationally noted.

The Nigeria versus Uganda game will kick off at 9pm Nigerian time at the Cape Coast stadium.
