The signing of the peace accord ahead of the 2023 presidential election did not go as planned owing to the absence of the APC's Bola Tinubu.

According to reports, presidential candidates from the other political parties were present to ink the deal but Tinubu was represented by his running mate Kashim Shettima.

The signing took place at the International Conference Centre (ICC) Abuja and the major contenders Peter Obi (Labour Party), Atiku Abubakar (PDP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso (NNPP) were present.

A report earlier claimed that Tinubu is presently in London, United Kingdom, something that has not been confirmed as of the time of filing this report.

APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu had called out the former Lagos governor, disclosing that he did not involve the National Working Committee in the composition of his presidential campaign council.
