According to El Rufai, plans are being perfected by CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele and others for a military takeover of the country as ongoing suffering orchestrated by Naira and fuel scarcity persists.

The plan allegedly involves making Nigerians suffer to the level of anarchy necessitating a military takeover.

According to unconfirmed reports, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has accused Godwin Emefiele and his backers of making life difficult for Nigerians for personal reasons.

In his view, Emefiele wants to cause so much hardship that will lead to rebellion and consequent military takeover.

The governor added that a retired army general will take over the country on an interim basis if enough chaos is created.

According to the governor, the people behind the monetary policy want the military to take over Nigeria by making life unbearable to Nigerians. El-Rufai raises serious allegations against Emefiele and others.

The governor disclosed this in a state broadcast in Kaduna on Thursday, February 16.

"They also sought to achieve any one or more of the following objectives: Create a nationwide shortage of cash so that citizens are incited to vote against APC candidates across the board resulting in massive losses for the Party in all the elections; "Ensure that the cash crunch is so serious, along with the contrived and enduring fuel shortage existing since September 2022, that the 2023 Elections do not hold at all, leading to an Interim National Government to be led by a retired Army General; "Sustain the climate of shortage of fuel, food and other necessities, leading to mass protests, violence and breakdown of law and order that would provide a fertile foundation for a military take-over."
