Governor Dapo Abiodun, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner of Saturday's Governorship Election in Ogun State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the results announced by the State Returning Officer for the election, Professor Kayode Adebowale, Abiodun received 276,298 votes, while his closest rival, Hon. Ladipupo Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), received 262,383 votes, and the second runner up, Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), received 94,754 votes.
The results also revealed that Abiodun won in 12 local governments while Adebutu won in eight.
However, the PDP has petitioned the INEC, requesting that the commission order a rerun in some polling units where results were cancelled due to BVAS failure and violence.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state has been declared the winner of Saturday's governorship election.
The INEC returning officer declared him the winner at 01.15 a.m. on Monday.
The Governor received 762,134 votes and won 19 of the state's 20 local government councils.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party received 312 329 votes, while Olajide Adediran of the PDP received 62,449 votes.

Abdullahi Maidoya, a candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), finished third overall with 11,726 votes.
Mohammed Alfa Nyas, the Social Democratic Party's (SDP) nominee, received 9.003 votes.
