President Muhammadu Buhari has charged all security agencies to ensure a safe and peaceful electoral exercise for Nigerians and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, stated this while briefing journalists on Wednesday after the National Security Council’s maiden meeting for 2023 chaired by the President at the Aso Villa, Abuja.
Also, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, said the council was satisfied with the level of security nationwide, therefore, elections would hold in a safe atmosphere.
According to Malami, enough preparations have been made ahead of Saturday’s polls.
When asked about the Supreme Court hearing which has been adjourned to March 3, 2023, Malami said the decision of the court would be studied.
