635 Set To Graduate From Redeemers University, Ede

Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State, says it will be graduating no fewer than 635 undergraduates in its 14th convocation, with 48 first-class honours.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Anthony Akinlo, said this while briefing journalists on Thursday at the university premises as part of the activities for the convocation.

Akinlo said those who bagged First Class honours constituted 7.6 per cent of the total intending graduates and a total of 223 students with second class upper division, which amounted to 35.1 percent.

He said 251 students came out with second class lower division, which is 39.5 per cent and 66 students fell under 10.4 percent .

"The Nursing Department will be graduating 21 students, while Diploma students had only 12 with second class upper , which is 1.7 per cent.

”Others include 13 Diploma students with second class lower having 2.0 per cent and only one student with merit , which is 0.2 percent, ” Akinlo said.

Akinlo explained that seven students with PhDs and MSc would also be graduating alongside with students from the Faculty of Law.

The VC further said the best graduating student for the 2022 Diamond set was Miss Esther Yemisi, having scored 5.0 as her CGPA, and having A’s in all courses.

”The university will retained her and also give her scholarship to her masters level.

He urged the graduating students not to contaminate themselves with things that would take away their value.

The VC noted that the university would bestow its highest honorary doctorate degree of letters on a respected life Ben her and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Morounfolu Olakunri.

Akinlo said the university was recently ranked as the best private university and the second best overall in the country in the 2022 National Universities Commission Ranking of universities.

”The ranking has attested to the university's unprecedented effort at meeting the global best practices of excellence in running higher educational institutions,” he said

The Convocation and awards of degrees comes up on October 13, 2022.
