The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has directed the immediate reversal of the sack letters issued to some workers of Ambrose Alli University(AAU), Ekpoma by the institution's management.
The management had allegedly given out sack letters titled to some members of the school staff for the purpose of “repositioning the University”.
Obaseki however extricated himself from the development, declaring the letters illegal, null, and void.
The directive to reverse the letters is contained in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media Projects to the Governor, Crusoe Osagie, and made available to newsmen in Benin.
“The management is to retrieve any such illegal letters if they were ever issued and reinstate the affected staff.
“I have ordered an in-depth investigation into what led to the sporadic issuance of illegal sack letters and assure that anyone found culpable will be brought to book,” the statement read.
The Governor further reiterated his dedication to the welfare of the institution's staff and providing solutions to lingering issues affecting workers in the university.
