The 23 remaining passengers of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train have been released by their abductors.
Per a Channels TV report, the release was announced by the Secretary of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee, Usman Yusuf.
According to Yusuf, the 23 captives were released by the terrorists on Wednesday at about 4 pm.
He also disclosed that the committee had taken custody of the passengers who were kidnapped during the attack on the train that took place on March 28, 2022.
Before now, the last batch of captives who regained freedom was released on August 19, 2022.
Prior to that, their family members had staged several protests aimed at compelling the federal government to intercede and secure the release of their loved ones.
