Those abducted from the Abuja-Kaduna train by the terrorist group called Ansaru have been given until Wednesday to live over failure on the part of the government to secure their release.

The families of those in captivity had recently vowed to occupy government facilities after one of them was shot in what some assumed was an attempt to put fear in them.

Tukur Mamu, a negotiator between the bandits and the federal government, had confirmed the shooting, saying that it was a warning to the latter to hasten plans to get the victims released.

An audio which is currently in circulation has revealed that the terrorists are planning to execute the victims as the government has failed to secure their release.

In the audio, a voice believed to be one of those of the terrorists threatens to slaughter the victims and speaking with Daily Post on Wednesday, Mamu disclosed that it was real and that the group intends to carry out their threat today.

“I was crying and pleading with them that since there is a delay from the government, they should discuss with the family members directly to negotiate the victims’ release.

“Based on the plea, they agreed to negotiate directly with the victims’ families.

“But they said they are giving us till Wednesday, that if there was nothing concrete from those that are interested in the negotiation, they will start slaughtering some of the victims", he stated.
