The newly elected chairman of the forum, Dr Umar Faruk Gwani, made the promise in Kano in his acceptance speech on Sunday, saying the decision has become necessary as the government is gradually commercializing the sector.

The new executives of the ACF were elected unopposed at its Annual General Meeting (AGM held in the state.

The new chairman added that the forum would also engage gubernatorial candidates from different political parties on its blueprint, especially on education, healthcare, security, agriculture and youth and women empowerment.

According to him, the new leadership will prioritise security through community policing to support security agencies and voluntary organisations in the fight against criminal activities.
