Nigerian debutant against Equatorial Guinea in the AFCON opener on Sunday, Alhassan Yusuf is reportedly missing in training as the Super Eagles begin preparations for the clash with Ivory Coast.

The diminutive midfield player was stretched off the pitch in that 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea on Sunday. He was replaced in the second half by Joe Aribo who should have started the game in the first place.

However, the young midfielder has said that the injury he sustained is not serious. The training session on Monday was open to the media.

Nigeria will intensify preparation amid perfecting strategy ahead of the duel with the Ivorian National team. The training will be behind closed doors.

Meanwhile, Yusuf will be hoping to be available for this match to make a statement against the big teams of African football as will be the case against Ivory Coast on Thursday evening.
