The Life Patron of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ambassador Mahmud Ahamad, has lauded the leadership of the Borno NUJ for its transformational projects to revive the union.
The commendation was made when the leadership of the union paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Maiduguri, the state's capital.
As contained in a statement on Tuesday by the union, the State Chairman of the union, Dauda Iliya, said the visit was to appreciate the ambassador as the founding father of the Borno NUJ.
He added that the delegation seeked to tap from his wealth of experience on the successes recorded by the present executive members.
Responding, the Ambassador appreciated them for the visit, assuring of his continuous support for the revival of the union's activities.
"I assure you that my doors are always open for any advice and other support that will move the Union forward.
"And most importantly help in actualising the 3 cardinal objectives of the Chairman, to redeem the image of NUJ, capacity building for its members in addition to partnership and collaboration with government and non governmental organisations," he said.
He further appealed to journalists in the state to continue with their good works and excellent reportage for the betterment of the society.
