Call on Abraham and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu would appear as he has claimed to be called the father of nations.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu told the Christian community and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kano State on Monday that Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)'s Pastor Enoch Adeboye named him Abraham, the father of nations.

At a time the APC and its stakeholders are trying to imprint normalcy into their Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, Tinubu went to his political archival footage to retrieve words of appreciation showered at him by the respected cleric.

What relevance does the refined confession have on the forthcoming general election and why did he bring it up now?

To display hands-on religious tolerance

More than once, Tinubu had addressed the public and stated that his choice of running mate was constructive.

Though feelers have maintained that he chose the former governor of Borno State, Kashim Shetima for electoral reasons, the Muslims in the country alone cannot win him the election.

In clear terms, the 'father of all nations' accolade by the RCCG pastor was a validation that the former Lagos helmsman is religiously tolerant.

The goal of the disclosure was to defeat the outrage in the Nigerian political arena that his choice of running mate was not all-inclusive ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Inclusiveness and sense of belonging

Bola Tinubu reiterated that he was there when his wife was ordained a pastor.

The context was to inform every Nigerian who cared to listen that he values other religions and what they do the same way he values his.

“The day my wife was ordained Pastor in the Redeemed Church, I was there,” the tone Tinubu used for this pronouncement signifies that he meant he wouldn’t only allow other religions but also support them.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) revealed in June that it was not in support of the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket for the presidential election.

It felt any political body that came out with such an arrangement was not sensitive about religion and inclusion in Nigeria.

It has maintained its stance ever since despite several dialogues

Predicting victory for himself

Some clergymen in Nigeria have grabbed the headline over the years by predicting election winners in Nigeria.

AllNews Nigeria can confirm that Pastor Enoch Adeboye does not have such records.

“Pastor Adeboye gave me Abraham, I said what is the meaning? He said watch out, the father of nations”, Tinubu declared.

He was insinuating that he would one day be president that would lead different cultural and religious groups.

Expectedly, the revelation will continue to divide opinions across the country. We will keep you posted as the political space unfolds.
