Some members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have received full salary payments for November 2022.
Newsmen gathered that the eight-month withheld salaries by the federal government remain unpaid.
A member of the union at the Bayero Univerity Kano made this known to journalists in an interview on Wednesday in Abuja.
“Some of our members have started receiving salaries and I can confirm to you that we received our full salaries for the month of November. However, the arrears are still withheld.” the lecturer said.
AllNews Nigeria reports that the Federal Government retained the 'no work no pay' policy and refused to pay lecturers under the union for the eight months during which they were on strike.
Different chapters of the union have protested the withheld salaries alongside the half-salary payment paid to lecturers in October.
Although others lecturers hope to get paid in full for the month of November, their negative reactions to the withheld salaries are expected to surface in the coming days.
