Following the invasion of bandits in Keke B community in Millennium City, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State, no fewer than 36 residents have been reportedly abducted.
According to reports, the incident took place in the late evening of Monday.
The bandits were reported to have invaded house by house abducting all residents.
A resident of the community identified as Muhammad Salihu said the attack took place around 8:30 pm.
He said, “Many of us were still outside when the bandits attacked because it was quite early, around 8.30 pm," as reported by Daily Trust.
Salihu added that the bandits invaded in their numbers while shooting sporadically.
He further disclosed that the bandits “Broke into people’s houses one after the other and kidnapped the occupants."
He explained that though one person he identified as a motorcycle mechanic escaped, the abductors left with 36 residents.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna state police command is yet to give an official statement regarding their presence witnessed at the scene.
All efforts made to reach the command's spokesperson, Mohammed Jalige proved abortive.
