Bauchi governor explores collaboration with Equatorial Guinea to boost economy

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has begun exploring collaboration with the Equatorial Guinea to boost the state's economy.

The governor, in a bid to enhance development of the state announced a strategic collaboration with the Federal Ministry of National Planning to position institutions for training in export and manpower.

He said the partnership with the ministry was "to stimulate economic growth and instill a culture of honesty and integrity among citizens."

Mohammed made this known when he hosted investors led by the Equatorial Guinea's Ambassador to Nigeria, Francisco Edu Ngue Mangue.

Receiving the delegation on Thursday, Governor Mohammed expressed his excitement, adding that his administration "opens a window for cooperation and partnership between the state and development partners."

He noted that the state shares similarities with the Equatorial Guinea in terms of culture, diversity and physical outlook, hence the need for the investors to utilize the opportunities in the state.

As contained in a statement on Thursday by the governor's aide, Lawal Muazu Bauchi, the governor reassured the delegation of his commitment to take the state on a trajectory of prosperity, adding that his administration was "investing and leveraging on private capital within and outside Nigeria."

He further appreciated the delegation for finding interest in the state while assuring them of their safety in the state.

On his part, the ambassador commended the governor for his strides in infrastructure, expressing eagerness to partner with the state for the benefit of both parties.

He said the country developed interest in the state due to the Governor's commitment to enhancing entrepreneurship and creating a business-friendly environment.
