Reacting to the murder of a Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Ferdinand Fanen Ngugban, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has vowed to fish out the culprits.
AllNews Nigeria earlier reported that Ngugban, the assistant parish priest of St. Paul Catholic Church, Aye-Twar village was killed on Tuesday inside the Parish house by unknown gunmen in the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen raided the village, setting many houses on fire before attacking the pries inside the church compound.
But in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase on Wednesday in Makurdi, Ortom assured the family of the deceased that the killers would be arrested and prosecuted.
He also condemned the killing, asking the federal government to immediately solve the worsening security situation in the country.

Ortom reassured the people of Katsina-Ala and Sankera that the state government will not relent until those responsible for the killing and other attacks in the area are brought to justice.
The governor described the attack as “mindless and wonders why a harmless priest would become the target of armed men.”
He reaffirmed the resolve of his administration not to handover the state to criminals and urged Benue people to continue to support security operatives with timely and useful information.
Ortom sympathized with the bereaved family and prayed that God grants the soul of Ngugban eternal rest.
