The National Assembly has transmitted the re-amended electoral bill to President Muhammadu Buhari for his assent.

The copies of the re-amended bill were transmitted on Monday by the clerk of the National Assembly, Olatunde Amos Ojo.

This was made available by the senior special assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Babajide Omoworare.

Omoworare said the transmission was in line with the provisions of the 1999 constitution as amended.

According to him, this is found in "The provisions of Section 58 (3) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and the Acts Authentication Act Cap. A2 LFN 2004.”
