Femi Falana, a human rights lawyer, has Predicted Atiku Abubakar's fate in President Bola Tinubu’s Chicago academic records suit in a US court.

Femi Falana reacted to Tinubu's decision to prevent Chicago State University (CSU) from revealing his academic records during his interview on Arise TV.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential flagbearer in the 2023 general election, Atiku Abubakar, was granted his petition before a Magistrate court in Illinois in the United States, and Chicago State University was compelled to provide President Tinubu's academic record to him.

Tinubu, on the other hand, begged before a US judge to prevent him from incurring "severe and irreparable damage" by putting an emergency stop on a recent Court decision requiring the release of his academic records.

Tinubu, through his counsel, stated that the harm he would incur would be irreversible if the ruling requiring the release of his academic records to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar was not postponed for a possible vacation.

Falana stated on Arise TV that the litigation could protect President Tinubu's private interests.

According to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, everyone in the United States has the right to request privacy, and Tinubu would not be denied that request.

“So if the President say, sorry, I don’t want my result, my details released, the court would have to consider the implication of that on Monday viz the request by Atiku Abubakar.

"In other words, the private interest of the President would have to be considered with that of Atiku Abubakar", Femi Falana stated.
