To demonstrate to the world how effective, safe, and simple travel is in a web3 future, Binance, a blockchain company on Wednesday launched the first-ever crypto-sponsored vacation, often known as "cryptotourism," with a debut trip to Lagos, Nigeria.
The initiative will show that travelling supported by cryptocurrency is not only possible but also a more practical method to see the world.
For a global cryptocurrency-only scavenger hunt that includes giving away $50,000 in Binance Coin, also known as BNB for those who wish to join the movement, Binance has partnered up with top travel influencers Lauren Bullen and Jack Morris, who will both be visiting Estonia and Lagos, respectively.
"Cryptotourism makes international travel simpler and safer for everyone," said James Rothwell, vice president of marketing for Binance Global.
Since there are no fees, complete transaction transparency, or problems with exchange rates between different countries, it is also a cost-effective option.
The simplicity with which crypto may be used while travelling is evidence of the extraordinary level of widespread worldwide adoption that we are beginning to see, he continued.
On World Tourism Day, the trip got underway on Tuesday. Using Binance Pay, a contactless, borderless, and secure cryptocurrency payment platform, Lauren and Jack will only book travel with bitcoin to Estonia and Nigeria, respectively, as well as all goods and services.
They will also provide advice on how to make cryptotourism a reality for all people.
