Nigerian music superstar Davido took to his Instagram story on Tuesday to express his joy following the affirmation of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, as the Governor of Osun State by the Supreme Court.
In his post, Davido acknowledged that the legal battle has been a long one, spanning several years.
He expressed his congratulations to the people of Osun State, declaring that it is ‘freedom time’.
He further noted that the victory was a result of divine intervention, concluding his post by congratulating everyone involved in the struggle.
“It has been a long battle. Congratulations to the Osun people, it is indeed freedom time.
“The battle has been on for years but God has been with us. Congratulations to everyone,” he wrote.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court upheld the election of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of Osun State, dismissing an appeal by Adegboyega Oyetola challenging his election.
