Sheriff Oborevwori, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been announced as the winner of the election held on Saturday.
According to the results announced by the Delta INEC Returning Officer, Professor Georgewill Owuneri Abraham on Monday, Oborevwori polled 360, 234 votes.
The PDP flag bearer beat his closest rival, Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 240,229 votes.
Labour Party candidate Ken Pela came in third with 48,047 votes.
“The PDP candidate, having met the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned as Governor-elect”, Abraham stated.
Oborevwori will take over from Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who was the running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the presidential election.
