The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brig.-Gen. Muhammad Fadah has pleaded for the protection of corps members participating in the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
Fadah made this request on Friday when he visited top officials of security agents in Ado-Ekiti, before the election was fixed for Saturday, June 18.
The body implored the cooperation of the security agencies to safeguard corps members, who are ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) for the election.
“I plead with you all, that is security agents, to ensure that corps members that will be participating in this Saturday’s national duty are well protected.”
Maj.-Gen. GU Chibuisi, who received the NYSC DG in GOC 2, Ado-Ekiti, pledged that the command would make sure corp members are protected at all costs during the exercise.
Chibuisi stated that the NYSC scheme made it possible for youths to explore the beauty of the country, promising to ensure the corp members are protected.
The Commissioner of Police, Moronkeji Adesina also pledged to support and protect the lives and property of the corps members during and after the elections in Ekiti State.
