A witness of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has testified that neither the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar nor President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is qualified to be declared as the nation's leader.
Mohammed Aliyu, who was being cross-examined by INEC's counsel, said since they both failed to get the required 25 per cent in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), they cannot be declared as president.
The witness was then asked if his opinion was personal and he replied that it was based on the constitutional provision.
On whether Atiku garnered the required result in the FCT, Aliyu stated: “My candidate did not score 25 per cent of votes in the FCT by the purported result published by INEC.”
While being quizzed by Tinubu's counsel Akin Olujimi (SAN), he maintained that his stand was based on the law while admitting that he was neither a lawyer.
According to Aliyu, the FCT is like any other state in the country.
