Eleven suspects were arrested on Friday night after attempting to pull off a robbery in OR Tambo International Airport's cargo precinct, says the Airports Company, South Africa.
The suspects gained entry via the main gate. According to the company, security procedures were activated and they were arrested.
Airport management said no one was injured and the incident was being investigated by the SAPS.
The incident caused air passengers and workers of the airport to pan ick, according to reports, the guards on duty were quick to notify the Police who wasted no time intervening.
The suspects were apprehended with no casualties reported from either of the suspects or the police and the citizens present in the airport.
