The people of Ibagwa Nike community, in Enugu East Local Government Area are in a jubilant mood over the asphalting of Ibagwa-Edem road by the local government Chairman, Hon. Livinus Anike.
The road project which is in line with the transformation agenda of his administration is the first major project undertaken by a council boss in years as Anike's predecessors left office with no tangible achievement for the people to see.
The road project started from the second gate of Enugu East local government secretariat and stopped close to Ibagwa Nike town hall.
Edem Nike residents who could not contain their joy showered encomiums on the council chairman as they thanked God for the gift of a visionary leader, noting that they have suffered the effect of bad roads in the area for too long.
They further prayed God to bless the council Chairman with the grace to actualize his good governance agenda for the people of Enugu East LGA.
Hon. Anike who inspected the project on Thursday said that it was part of his desire to fulfill all his campaign promises and to fulfil the mandate of local government administration which is to bring government closer to the people.
He thanked them for the support they have shown him since his assumption of office.
Other developmental projects being undertaken by the council boss include drilling of ultra mordern borehole, bridge construction, ongoing mini-stadium construction, installation of solar-powered street lights, procurement of 365KVA generator among others.
