The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Enugu State has been burnt down by hoodlums.
According to reports, the incident took place on Sunday night when the arsonists stormed the office located in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The state fire service was unable to put out the fire on time and the entire building was razed to the ground.
Efforts to reach the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, proved futile as of the time of filing this report.
It was reported that the area has been under attack by gunmen who have been on a path of destruction in the southeastern region.
The state government had recently put in place a curfew between 6 pm and 6 am, banning commercial motorcycles in the Igboeze North and its neighbouring Igboeze South LGAs.
