The arrest and imprisonment of the Chief of Army Staff, Farouk Yahaya, has been ordered by a high court sitting in Minna.
Reports on Thursday also revealed that a warrant of arrest was also issued against the Commandant of the Training and Doctrine Command, Minna, Olugbenga Olabanji.
The order was given in the suit marked NSHC/225/2019 after Yahaya and Olabanji were found guilty of contempt.

The counsel to the plaintiffs/applicants, Mohammed Liman, who filed the motion for the issuance of the warrants requested the court to send the chief of army staff and the commandant to the correctional centre for disobeying an order made on October 12, 2022.

"They shall remain in the custody of the correctional centre until they purge themselves of the contempt”, the judge added.
