Gombe: Governor Yahaya extends Eid-el-Fitr holiday

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the extension of the Eid-el-Fitr public holiday by two days.

The governor extended the holiday to Thursday, April 11 and Friday 12, 2024, as part of efforts to enable workers in the state to continue with their Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The governor's approval was conveyed on Wednesday by Jibrin Yusuf for the State Head of Civil Service while wishing the workers and residents a peaceful celebration.

According to the statement, the workers are expected to resume work on Monday, April 15, 2024.

The statement partly reads: "I am directed to inform you that the Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, (Dan Majen Gombe ) has approved the extension of the Public Holiday to Thursday 11th and Friday 12th April 2024 to enable Civil Servants in the State continue with the Celebration of this year's Eid el-fitr along with their counterparts nationwide.


"The Head of Civil Service wishes all Workers and indeed the General Public a peaceful celebration.

"Meanwhile, all essential services would be maintained throughout the Public Holiday and Workers will resume their normal duty on Monday 15th April 2024."
