The lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency, Adewumi Adeyemi has urged parents and governments to do more to preserve children's rights and improve their quality of life.
The request was made in a statement that the lawmaker signed and released to journalists on Saturday.
Adeyemi highlighted concerns about out-of-school children and those who are living in penury and extreme poverty while referring to children as God's gifts who deserve care, love, and attention always.
The legislator contended that in addition to making sure that kids are well-cared for and receiving a good education, parents and all levels of government need to buckle up.
He also voiced concerns regarding the geometrical rate of mortality and the arithmetical rate of resources needed to mitigate adverse consequences on society.
"Parents should try to have as many children as they can support, and governments at all levels should also offer the essential social amenities to make life an enjoyable experience for kids."
