The First Lady of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi has urged school girls in the state to focus on their studies to accomplish their dreams.
Fayemi gave the advice while speaking at an event organised by the state government in partnership with the Adolescent Girl Child Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) to commemorate the 2022 International Day of the Girl-Child on Thursday in Ado- Ekiti.
The Governor's wife advised the girls to pay attention to their studies and steer clear of distractions such as bad company, waywardness, and truancy, among others.
She further urged the parents and guardians of the girls to play their role by raising them properly and ensuring they get educated so that they (the school girls) can be useful for themselves and the society.
Fayemi guaranteed that the wife of the incoming Governor of the state, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, would keep up with the programmes relating to the girl child and women in Ekiti.
Speaking earlier, Oyebanji urged girls to stay focused and take their studies with all seriousness in a bid to become good citizens and great ambassadors of their homes.
Dr Olabimpe Aderiye, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology lauded the Governor's wife for commencing programmes that promote the well-being of the girl child in the state.
She advised the girls to be conscious of their company to avoid being negatively influenced.
