Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) alum Groovy has reacted to Davido’s statement referring to Burna Boy as a ‘new cat’.
Davido, during an interview, asserted his and Wizkid’s status as pioneering figures in the industry, predating the emergence of what he called the ‘new cats’, which includes Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake.
Davido expressed satisfaction at witnessing the rise of these artistes and their impact on the music scene.
Reacting to this, Groovy in a tweet said that Davido could have worded his statement better but he chose not to.
He wondered why Burna Boy was mentioned in the same breath as the other artistes mentioned.
