The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that 40,000 Permanent Voters' Cards (PVCs) have not been collected in Adamawa State.

The INEC appealed to people to go and collect their cards.

This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the commission, Malam Dahiru Jauro in Yola.

Jauro, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said out of the 56,000 cards printed by the commission between June and December 2021, only 16,000 have been collected.

He further stated the remaining 40,000 PVCs were yet to be collected.

According to Jauro, “We will ensure that each of the PVCs is collected by those who registered for them."

While reacting to what the commission is doing on the issue, Jauro said the commission is engaging religious and traditional leaders and the citizens through the media to enlighten them on the need to collect their PVCs.

Adamawa state is the home state of the People's Democratic Party presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
