Dr Biden was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by her host, Rachel Ruto, and top officials of both countries including US Ambassador Meg Whiteman and EAC Affairs Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano.
US First Lady Dr Jill Biden is in Nairobi for a three-day official visit.
Later this evening, she is to have a private meeting with her host at State House Nairobi.
Dr Biden will participate in several events, including a visit to JoyFul Women, a table banking project that aims to empower women and is led by First Lady Rachel Ruto.
It is Jill Biden’s sixth visit overall to the African continent, but her first time as first lady. It’s also her first visit to Kenya.
