Popular comedian and activist Mr Macaroni has expressed displeasure over the recent killing of a student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State.
Deborah, the female student, was reportedly burnt to death for blaspheming against Prophet Muhammad and a video of the moment was posted online.
Speaking on the unfortunate development via his official Twitter handle, Mr Macaroni stated that it happened because there are no consequences for such actions in the country.
Stating that justice must be served, the skit maker called on Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, to address the issue while reminding him that things were already hard enough.
"According to multiple reports, Deborah a female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, accused of Blasphemy was killed and burnt.
"This is what happens when there are no consequences for actions in the society. The government must wake up from their slumber!!
"Justice must be served!!! And it must be swiftly done!! If not, we would be enabling a society wherein religious extremists take the law into their hands, kill and destroy.
"These acts should be highly condemned lest we add more tension and Chaos to a society already on the edge!!!
"Governor @AWTambuwal, this is happening in your state!!! Issues like this should be swiftly addressed. Nigerians already have it hard!!
"Killing and burning of people should not be added to the list!!!", he wrote.
