Kaduna Governor Condoles Former Senate President Lawan Over Mother's Demise

The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has condoled the Former Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, over his mother's demise.

The deceased, Late Hajiya Halima Ibrahim died aged 86 on Saturday night in Gashua area of Yobe State. 

He noted that the deceased was a religious woman who touched so many lives.

The Governor made this known in a condolence message he personally signed on Monday. 

The message reads: "It is with a deep sense of loss but total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah that I received the news of the passing on to eternal glory of your dear mother, Hajiya Halima Ibrahim.


"Hajiya Halima Ibrahim lived an impactful life. She touched the lives of many in her community. 

"A deeply religious woman, she was an inspiration to women, young and old. 

"She will be remembered for her humility, simplicity and compassion.

"Hajiya Halima Ibrahim gave us my dear leader and colleague, the highly cerebral, resourceful and articulate former President of the Senate, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ahmad Lawan. 

"Senator Lawan steered the affairs of the 9th Senate with patriotic zeal. 


"He remains a reference point in consensus building and collective leadership. 

"Hajiya Halima Ibrahim will continue to live in our hearts and her legacies will endure. 

"On behalf of myself, my family and the people of Kaduna State, kindly accept our heartfelt condolences. 

"We pray fervently for the repose of the gentle soul of Hajiya Halima Ibrahim. 

"May the Almighty Allah give the Lawan Family and the entire Gashua Community the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss."
