Barely 24 hours after a State High Court in Kano ordered the eviction of the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero from a mini palace, the Federal High Court in the state ordered the eviction of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II from the palace.

The Federal High Court also gave the conflicting judgement shortly after the State High Court had issued an order restraining the police, the State Security Service and the military from evicting the reinstated Emir Sanusi.

The order was granted by Justice S.A. Amobeda on Tuesday following a motion filed before the court on May 27, 2024.

Daily Nigerian reports that the case at the Federal High Court was filed by deposed Emir Aminu Bayero while the Kano High Court case was filed by the reinstated Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II alongside the four Kingmakers of Kano: Madakin Kano Yusuf Nabahani; Makaman Kano Ibrahim Sarki Abdullahi; Sarkin Bai Mansur Adnan and Sarkin Dawaki Maituta Bello Tuta.

Justice Amobeda said that while the court was aware of the order made by Justice Liman J. on May 23, 2024, Tuesday's order was in the interest of Justice and the maintenance of peace in Kano State.
