The Kano State NNPP Gubernatorial Transition Committee (GTC) has released a list of thirty-one (31) Sub-committees for various sectors and sub-sectors of the transition process.
The Chairman of the Transition Committee, Dr Abdullahi Baffa Bichi who announced the Sub-committees' list on Thursday said the transition process will be rigorous to ensure that everything inherited from the MDAs is properly analysed and documented for informed future decision-making by the incoming government of Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf.
A statement issued by Sanusi Bature D/Tofa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor-Elect, Sunusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa listed the Sub-committees to include: Education, Healthcare Services, Recovery of Public Properties, Works and Infrastructure, Women Affairs and Social Development, Housing and Transport, Environment and Climate, Finance, Budget and Economic Planning and Water Resources.
The statement further explained that "notable personalities including former Deputy Governor Prof Hafiz Abubakar, Chairman of the NNPP Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, the immediate past State Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Shehu Wada Sagagi, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba and Dr. Danjuma Mahmud among other technocrats, politicians and professionals in various field of human endeavour formed part of the Transition Sub-committees."
"The Chairman of the 2023 Gubernatorial Transition Committee Dr. Bichi enjoined all members of the various committees to swing into action and ensure due diligence and utmost professionalism in the discharge of their duties", it added.
