In what is seen as the war of words between the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the state's governor-elect Abba Kabir Yusuf, the former has replied the latter again following his recent advisory.
The governor-elect had advised lenders to desist from giving the state loan without his approval.
He had earlier issued an advisory on government’s lands and buildings, warning people or organisations who were undertaking construction on public places to stay off.
However, in a reaction to his most recent loan advisory, Ganduje said the governor-elect was starting on a wrong foot.
Ganduje stated that the governor-elect had already shown that he lacks sense of direction before being sworn in as the state governor.
Addressing reporters in Kano after a prayer organised for the President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, he said: “It is a practical indication and a practical symbol that their leadership has no sense of direction because that kind of advisory is baseless."
While lamenting over the actions of the governor-elect, Ganduje said: “He is talking as if he is now the Governor of Kano State.
"He is not yet the governor.
"We were praying for him to govern well, but what we are telling you is we are taking this temporary success to the tribunal.
“And for somebody to start making such speeches, you can judge that he is starting with a very very wrong footing.”
