Katsina APC Accuses Danmarke Of Attacking Guber Candidate Motorcade

The Katsina State All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused the gubernatorial candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Yakubu Lado Danmarke for the attack on its candidate's motorcade.

The motorcade of the APC gubernatorial candidate was attacked in Danmarke village.

This was contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the state's APC, Alhaji Sani Ahmed Daura on Saturday.

"Our attention has been drawn to a scandalous and insultive audio clip of the Katsina State PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Yakubu Lado Danmarke, in which Danmarke was recorded insulting the DPO of Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State over the attack by his supporters on the motorcade of Katsina State APC Gubernatorial candidate while passing through Danmarke village on campaign tour. 

"It should be of interest to the general to note that the APC Gubernatorial campaign team have visited 33 Local Government Area’s of Katsina State, 342 Wards without any incidence until they visited Kankara Local Government on their way to Danmaidaki Ward before they were attack at Danmarke which is a Polling unit under Danmaidaki Ward. 

"The audio clip clearly proved that Yakubu Lado masterminded and sponsored miscreants to attack our candidate’s convoy in Danmarke village. 

"We are hereby calling on the Inspector-General of Police to investigate the Danmarke incidence. 

"It’s also important to investigate the threat issued against the DPO of Kankara Local Government by Yakubu Lado in the audio. 

"If left unaddressed, the threat will embolden others to make a habit out of lowering the esteem and authority of security officials which, needless to say, will worsen the already challenging security situation in Katsina State. 

"Just as important is the need for the IGP to specifically investigate the allegation labelled against the officer by Yakubu Lado as the aim of the allegation is to set the community against the officer and possibly erode public confidence in the Nigerian Police to pave way for thuggery to thrive in the state or even make it ungovernable for unscrupulous politicians to cash on the chaos. 

"This need to check this and prevent further aggravation of the security situation in the area cannot be overemphasized", the statement reads.
