He said, "The men of Amotekun were called by the residents of the areas after noticing unfamiliar faces in their environment. The operatives of Amotekun swung into action immediately and arrested the suspects on the school premises. The suspected kidnappers were arrested disguised as commercial motorcyclists."

General Adewinmbi who said the kidnappers were using different techniques to kidnap their victims urged the residents of the state to be vigilant.

"They often come disguised as innocent people whereas they are notorious criminals."

He also disclosed that upon conclusion of the investigation, the security outfit concluded that the suspects had a skeleton in their cupboard and they refused to confess their mission within the school premises during school hours where they were arrested.

He also added that the suspect had been transferred to the police Anti-Kidnapping Unit for subsequent interrogation and prosecution. Both suspects have however denied being kidnappers.

Adeniyi Elijah said he brought his mother to Osogbo from Masifa in Ejigbo local government council areas to take care of the newborn baby from his elder brother's wife at Costain area of  Osogbo.

"I only used the opportunity to use my motorcycle to carry passengers so that I could gather some money before going back to Masifa where I live.

"I was tired after conveying some passengers and I was relaxing under a tree at Nawarudeen Grammar School premises when the residents of the area raised alarm and alleged me of being a kidnapper and Amotekun was invited to arrest me."

Abdullah Rasheed Abubakar said he was a commercial motorcyclist and on Tuesday he and people about twenty were staying at Ogidan Grammar School premises when the men of Amotekun came but on sighting them, the others all ran away.

"On Wednesday I was relaxing on my motorcycle at Ogidan Grammar School premises when the operatives of Amotekun showed up and I was arrested for attempted kidnapping.

Last week, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke raised alarm after a security meeting where he alleged that some persons were planning to kidnap the school pupils in the state.
