Dr Salisu Usman Ogbo, Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja has warned lecturers of the institution against the forceful sale of textbooks.
The Rector issued this warning while addressing a press conference on Wednesday in Lokoja.
According to Ogbo, some lecturers of the polytechnic have the habit of coercing students into buying textbooks as a requirement for passing their courses.
He frowned at this attitude, maintaining that the sale of textbooks popularly known as handbooks remains banned in the institution.
Ogbo threatened that any lecturer caught in this act would be sacked, stating that the institution has no tolerance for immorality on campus including examination malpractice and other vices.
"Forcing our students to buy textbooks is totally unacceptable. The selling of textbooks should not be a parameter to pass any course. Any lecturer caught will be dismissed," he stated.
