The Kwara State Government has declared Friday, July 29, 2022, as work-free for civil servants in the state.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq made this known on Wednesday, noting that it is to enable them to register for the voters' registration card.
The holiday comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) closes the continuous voter registration exercise on July 31.
AbduRazaq said staff are expected to have their PVCs to ensure they vote in the next general elections as their civic duty.
“His Excellency urges the people of Kwara State, especially the civil servants, to take full advantage of the holiday to perform their civic duty of registering to vote," he said.
