KWASU Holds Matriculation Ceremony For 10,340  

Kwara State University, Malete on Friday matriculated 10,340 students into the eight faculties in the institution for their first Degree programmes.

The Acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Shaykh Lukman Jimoh who presided over the 14th matriculation ceremony congratulated the new students for being selected out of over 20,000 candidates who applied to the institution for the 2022/2023 session. 

 Jimoh, however, cautioned them against involvement in vices as students of the university.

“Permit me to congratulate the matriculating students and their parents for their success in the rigorous process of admission which eventually culminated into their admission into this great citadel of learning.

”It is pertinent to state here that admission into KWASU should be seen as a rare privilege and a golden opportunity.

“Let me also sound this note of warning that KWASU has zero tolerance for all acts of misconduct,” he said.

The Acting vice-chancellor further warned: ”The university will swiftly apply appropriate sanctions against any student found to engage in any act of misconduct in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations.

“I, therefore, admonish you to shun all acts of social vices such as improper dressing, cultism, examinatíon malpractices and violent demonstration.

”Also, membership of unregistered associations on campus, theft, armed robbery and other civil disturbances that may threaten the smooth running of academic activities and calendar of the university won’t be tolerated”.

The University Don urged the matriculants to become familiar with the Students Code of Conduct, and all other existing rules and regulations of the institution.

“By way of emphasis, I want to remind you that the Matriculation Oath that was administered to you today, implies that you have willingly agreed to subject yourselves to all the rules and regulations of the university.

”I, therefore, advise you to constantly abide by the oath,” he added.
