The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has stated that the party has no faction and has just one leader.
Abure made the remark while announcing his return to the party secretariat, along with other executives on Thursday.
The development comes a month after Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal High Court in Abuja barred him and other executives from parading themselves as national officers of the party.
Speaking with pressmen on Thursday, Abure disclosed that he and the other executives were back following a motion for stay at the Court of Appeal.
While dismissing reports of the party being factionalised given Lamidi Apapa's recent actions, Abure stated unequivocally that the Labour Party has only one national chairman.
“It has become imperative for me to address this press conference to properly put the legal issues surrounding the leadership of the party in proper perspectives.
“It is pertinent to state categorically that Labour Party has no faction.
“It has only one leadership and that leadership is the National Working Committee led by myself, Barrister Julius Abure.”
