The Chairmen and Secretaries of the Labour Party (LP) in the Nineteen Northern States, along with the FCT, have collectively expressed their condemnation of the unjustified attacks launched by Dr. Abayomi Arabambi against the former Presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 General elections, Peter Obi.

Led by Engr. Muhammad Lawal, Zonal Vice Chairman, the party officials emphasized the LP's dedication to democratic principles, fairness, and respectful dialogue. They stressed the importance of constructive and respectful criticism, highlighting that criticisms should be well-founded.

The derogatory remarks made by Dr. Arabambi against Mr. Peter Obi were deemed disrespectful and detrimental to the party's image and progress.

Despite repeated warnings and appeals, Dr. Arabambi persisted in his unruly behaviour, including referring to Mr. Peter Obi as "a tribalistic bigot," which the LP officials found unacceptable.

As representatives of the LP, they openly distanced themselves from Dr. Arabambi and his derogatory remarks, urging him to cease such behaviour immediately. They reaffirmed their unwavering support for Mr. Peter Obi, emphasizing his embodiment of the party's values and principles.

Additionally, the LP Chairmen declared solidarity with Mr. Obi, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Obidient movement groups, and other stakeholders committed to maintaining the party's integrity and unity.
