Muslims and supporters of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State on Sunday held a special intercessory prayer seeking God's intervention for justice to prevail over the alleged stolen gubernatorial mandate in the state.
The special prayer was held at the party's Secretariat along Jos road, Lafia the state capital.
Convener and Islamic cleric who led the session, Mallam Aliyu Akurba admonished believers to shun intentional sins in order to avoid the wrath of God Almighty in the grave and on the day of judgement.
Akurba also admonished the judiciary which is seen as the last hope of the common man to ensure justice is served and the stolen mandate to the rightful owner.
The supporters of the mainstream opposition believed that the recently concluded gubernatorial election was won by the party but rigged in favour of incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
INEC announced Governor Sule as winner of the election held on Saturday March 18.
He polled 347,209 to beat his closest contender, PDP's Emmanuel David Ombugadu who got 283,016 votes.
