Nasarawa Police Confirms Arrest Of Two Killers Of Three-Week-Old Baby

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two killers of a three-week-old child in Lafia. 

The command, through its spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel made this known in a statement on Saturday. 

According to Nansel, the arrest was recorded following intelligence reports after the suspects had gone into hiding.

The suspects committed the crime on October 11 in Lafia, the state's capital. 

The command spokesperson in the statement said the suspects were identified as 40-year-old Abdulkadir Ahmed and his 40-year-old friend, Hassan Sabo.

Ahmed who was the father of the child had alongside his friend lured his entranged wife and mother of the child under the pretext of reconciliation. 

The wife who met them at Ahmed's shop was drawn into a conversation by Sabo outside while the principal suspect (Ahmed) took the child into the shop.

According to the statement, while the mother was outside, she heard the child scream and went silent. 

The suspect who came out of the shop immediately told her that the child had gone to sleep.

Meanwhile, before she checked the lifeless body of her child, the duo ran and hopped on a motorcycle.

The police took the body to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia for postmortem examination.
