Nedu, a popular Nigerian comedian, has shared his thoughts on the recent trend of videos showing people causing chaos in banks due to the scarcity of new Naira notes.
In a video he shared via his Instagram story on Wednesday afternoon, the media personality posed a question to those who have been engaging in this act, asking how they plan to get the new notes from the same banks they have scattered.
“All these videos trending about people scattering banks because they are angry about the scarcity of new Naira notes; I have a question.
“This new Naira notes you are angry about that made you scatter the banks, how do you want to get the new Naira notes from the banks you have scattered?,” he asked.
He went on to explain that the situation is quite ironic as most of these banks do not even have the new notes to give out, and advised that those who are angry should direct their grievances to the Central Bank of Nigeria instead of attacking banks.
“The funny thing you don’t understand is that; most of these banks don’t even have the Naira note to give you.
“Why didn't you go to the Central Bank? Go and fight Emefiele.
"You should think. Common sense is not common,” Nedu stated.
Nedu further criticized the actions of those causing chaos in banks, noting that they were only compounding the problem and making it harder for the banks to operate.
"You went to bank to scatter it, which money will they use to fix the bank? Rubbish.”
